Venture AOT Beginner Guide: Your First ODM Hunt

Last updated 2026-10-12Unofficial player article

Prepare your first hunt, practice hooks before attacking, and keep gas and blades ready for the return trip.

This Venture AOT beginner guide starts with movement, then turns that movement into a manageable first hunt. Join the official Roblox experience, look through your HUD, and prepare your ODM gear before flying toward a Titan. Comfortable controls and a way back are more useful early goals than an expensive purchase. Give yourself one small job: leave a safe area, make a controlled approach, and return with enough gas to stay mobile.

Prepare the HUD and your hands

Locate health, gas, blade condition, and your money balance before leaving the starting area. Open the control settings and read the actions you will use together. Hooks, directional movement, and boost overlap during flight, so an awkward binding can make a simple correction surprisingly difficult. Change an uncomfortable input before you add a moving Titan to the situation.

Keep your camera pointed far enough ahead to see the next structure. You need somewhere to attach after the first swing, not just a surface directly under your crosshair. Treat the first route as travel practice rather than a race. That makes a missed hook recoverable and lets you learn what your current equipment actually does.

Build one reliable travel route

Choose nearby structures with room between them. Attach a hook, move around its anchor, and release once you have useful momentum. The gear has swinging physics; holding boost throughout the trip is not the whole movement system. Carrying momentum between attachments helps preserve gas and avoids needless repeated hooking.

Practice a return along the same short route. A successful outward swing alone does not tell you whether you can leave an encounter. Add a second anchor only after you understand the first pull. Two hooks combine their directions, so matching anchors and separated anchors produce different paths. Use the tutorial for a focused movement practice sequence.

Make the first encounter about positioning

Choose a Titan you can keep in view and approach with nearby escape anchors. Avoid committing from directly in front while you are still learning to steer. Your blades need to reach a weak point; simply moving fast toward the body does not make a useful strike.

Keep the attack brief. If your angle collapses or you lose sight of the next anchor, leave and rebuild the approach. A reset gives you another chance to line up a cut instead of forcing an attack from a bad position. Check gas and blade condition between attempts. Returning early is a practical part of learning the hunt, not a failed session.

Put the first rewards toward readiness

Kroner supports equipment and supplies, so decide what you need before spending the first balance. If travel is unreliable, practice the route before assuming a purchase will solve it. If supplies are the obstacle, prioritize being ready for another outing instead of immediately choosing cosmetics.

The official community offers a 5% money and XP bonus for members. You can also review the Codes page for promotional rewards before shopping. Keep those rewards separate from the normal hunting routine: a code is a one-time opportunity, while a repeatable route is something you can use across sessions.

Set a useful goal for the next session

  • Chain a short route out and back without constant boost.
  • Keep an escape anchor in mind during an approach.
  • Return before low gas or blade condition ends the attempt.

Once those tasks feel comfortable, the how-to-play overview connects hunting with progression, shifting, and customisation. You do not need to solve every system on your first visit. A clean return gives you a stronger foundation for the next choice.
