Venture AOT ODM Gear Not Working: Check Hooks and Boost
Separate missing hooks, unexpected boost direction, and low supplies so you can investigate one ODM action at a time.
If Venture AOT ODM gear is not working, identify which action fails before changing the whole setup. A hook that never attaches, a boost that sends you upward, and a trip that ends with depleted supplies are different problems. Begin in a safe area with the gear prepared, use one action at a time, and watch what actually happens. The first useful result is a precise symptom, not a collection of settings changes you cannot compare.
Start with equipment readiness
Review the equipment and resource displays before attempting another route. Confirm that the ODM setup you intend to use is ready and that gas and blade condition support the activity. A gear complaint after an extended hunt can be a supply problem rather than the same issue seen immediately after preparation.
Use the actual preparation interactions in your session. This guide does not supply a guessed equip key or a fixed resupply location. Read the menu action and current resource state, then move to clear scenery where a movement check can happen without a Titan interrupting it.
Separate attachment from travel
Aim at a clear surface and try each hook independently. Look for the attachment before judging how fast the character moves. If neither attaches, read the current hook bindings. The tutorial describes normal Q/E hooks but uses a creator's custom mouse layout, so the visible video inputs may differ from yours.
If hooks worked and then stopped after heavy use, temporary hook tension is another explanation. Reduce constant grappling and carry momentum between useful attachments. If an attachment appears but the path is poor, the next question is the pull direction rather than whether the hook input was recognized.
| Symptom | Focus the check |
|---|---|
| No attachment | Current hook input and clear scenery. |
| Worked before frequent grappling | Temporary hook tension and travel rhythm. |
| Boost climbs unexpectedly | Directional combination, especially W. |
| Two hooks produce an awkward route | Combined anchor pulls and room ahead. |
| Problems after extended activity | Gas and blade readiness. |
Separate boost from directional correction
Space boosts while hooked in the demonstrated PC layout. W during that boost sends the character upward, while S moves down and no movement key gives the forward pull. Holding a familiar forward key can therefore create an unfamiliar aerial route without any missing gear action.
Choose one anchor with room ahead and compare a forward boost with a deliberate directional correction. If the movement changes predictably, the gear is responding and the route needs work. If the mapped action remains absent, keep that action isolated instead of adding every movement skill at once.
Check how two anchors shape the path
Both attached hooks pull simultaneously. Matching anchors can create a stronger forward launch; separated anchors combine their directions. The resulting path can overshoot a close destination or steer between points you did not intend to combine.
Return to one hook if you need to understand the movement. Then add the second with a clear purpose, such as a stronger forward pull or a different height. You are testing an anchor choice, not proving that the more expensive-looking setup must be defective. A route can fail while all its inputs work normally.
Move to the guide for the exact symptom
- Hooks Not Working handles attachment and tension.
- Gas Not Working handles fuel and boost behavior.
- ODM Controls explains the demonstrated inputs.
For a route that responds but feels awkward, How to Swing is the more useful next step. If an individual action stays unresponsive with prepared gear and a clear setup, report that action, the device, and what happened before it stopped. That gives the official community a specific problem to help investigate.
