Venture AOT Blade Controls: Ready, Strike, and Leave

Last updated 2026-10-12Unofficial player article

Separate readying blades from the attack action, then time the cut around your movement through a Titan weak point.

Venture AOT blade controls serve two different jobs: prepare the blades and perform the attack. Use your bound actions for each, then time the strike around your movement through a Titan’s weak point. Repeated attacks cannot substitute for a clear approach or usable blade supplies.

Ready the blades before the final approach

Drawing or readying your blades is preparation for the cut. Do that before the last part of a committed approach so you are not trying to organize equipment while already within the Titan’s reach. Keep the ready action distinct from the input that actually performs the attack.

Use the bindings in your active layout rather than copying another player’s complete setup. A comfortable arrangement keeps the blade actions accessible alongside the inputs you need for hooks and movement. The purpose of a good binding is to let you prepare and strike without abandoning control of the approach.

Press the attack for contact with the weak point

The attack action performs the blade strike; the movement determines whether that strike reaches the intended target. Aim the route toward a side or rear opening and carry it through the weak point. Attacking simply because the Titan fills the screen can leave the cut on the wrong part of the body.

Keep the camera useful during the final movement. You need to recognize the moment your line reaches the target and where you will travel next. If the weak point has moved out of that line, regain distance rather than adding several attacks to an angle that no longer works.

Let hooks and gas place the cut

Blades finish the strike, while your ODM movement supplies the approach and departure. An anchor can help create the line; boost adds acceleration when you need it. These functions work together, but each should have a purpose instead of being held continuously through the whole encounter.

Avoid parking beside the Titan while preparing another slash. Keep your path moving through the target area and toward space beyond it. A short blade exchange with a clear exit is easier to control than a prolonged attempt to fix aim from inside reach. How to Kill Titans covers the complete engagement route.

Treat blade supply as part of the control sequence

A well-timed attack still depends on having blades ready for the outing. Check their condition before you begin another encounter, and return for replacements when supplies are depleted. Gas deserves the same attention because it supports the movement that gets the blades to the weak point and takes you away afterward.

Keep essential supplies ahead of optional purchases when planning a session. The practical goal is to repeat useful attacks without an avoidable return halfway through an approach. You do not need to spend every resource on upgrades if that leaves the next outing without the equipment needed to finish it.

Know which blade problem belongs on another page

If the action does not trigger, focus on the bound input and equipment preparation. If the action triggers but the cut misses, focus on the attack line. If the blades are depleted, disengage and replace them. These are different reasons for a failed attempt, so avoid changing every part of your setup at once.

Blade Controls Not Working helps separate those situations. Controller players can use Xbox Blade Controls for camera and hand coordination. Keep this reference simple: ready the blades, reach the intended weak point, attack at contact, and leave the body’s reach.
